Upper Level Baseball Division Descriptions

AA – League Age 8-9

Two practices per week for approx. 1.5 hours as weather and daylight allows. 1-2 games per week, practices approx. once per week as games start and weather and daylight allow. Saturday games will be few and far between for this level, typically only as a makeup. Players receive a jersey and a fitted hat to keep. This level is for players that have at least 1 year of experience in Rookie, or possess a more advanced level of hand eye coordination and the capacity to follow safety guidelines. Players begin to pitch at this level, though game time scenarios sometimes require a coach to pitch. Players at this level begin to learn how to steal. First-year league age 8’s should play in Rookie to build skillset, while players that were league age 7 and played in Rookie should move to AA as a league age 8. Tryouts are required; there will be a special tryout for all league age 8’s that are unsure whether to play in Rookie or AA. Any league age 7’s who would like the experience of trying out, or would like to be considered for AA, are welcome. Any requests or questions on tryout day should be directed to the Player Agent, President or VP. Any league age 8’s that do not have the skill set to play in AA will be moved to Rookie as a safety precaution. No movement of players to another division will happen prior to the parents being contacted by the League Player Agent, a Player Agent, the VP of Baseball or the President of the League. This division does involve a draft, though all players will be placed on a team. If a player cannot make a tryout they will enter into the draft as a "hat pick" and be placed in the division that best suits their league age (hat pick: the player will be a blind pick at the end of the draft for whichever coach is next in line for a pick). For any parents that have questions related to the draft process please see our operating manual located on our website. AA is the first year a player can be eligible for All Stars. If the player attends tryouts, meets Little League International requirements and District requirements, then they may tryout for All Stars.

AAA – League Age 10-11

Two practices per week for approx. 1.5 hours as weather and daylight allows. 1-2 games are typically played per week, and practices are approximately once per week as games start and weather and daylight allow. Saturday games will be few and far between for this level, typically only as a makeup. Players receive a jersey and a fitted hat to keep. This level is for players that have at least 1 year of experience, more advanced level of hand eye coordination, and understand the importance of safety. This level of baseball is entirely player-pitch and the players will continue to learn base-stealing. We recommend first year league age 9’s play in AA to further build their skillset prior to playing in AAA. Tryouts are required, there will be a tryout time for the players to attend. Any league age 8’s that would like to be considered to play up in the AAA division will also be asked to register for the AAA division and to attend this tryout. No movement of players to another division will happen prior to the parents being contacted by the League Player Agent, a Player Agent, the VP of Baseball or the President of the League. This division does involve a draft, though all players will be placed on a team. If a player cannot make a tryout they will enter into the draft as a "hat pick" and be placed in the division that suits their league age. (hat pick: the player will be a blind draw at the end of the draft for whichever coach is next in line for a pick.)
