Little League International COVID-19 Updates

SLL Statement on Games & Scrimmages:
updated 1/28/22

Washington State lifted capacity limits and social distancing requirements on June 30, 2021

Snohomish Little League will be following recommendations from the Washington State Governor’s office, the most recent guidelines from the “Healthy Washington” initiative, WA District 1 Little League, and the Snohomish School District.  The below guidelines are subject to change as the season progresses.

Baseball, Softball, and Tee Ball are considered a 'Moderate contact outdoor sport'.

Public Gatherings

Per Washington State guidelines, in general, if gathering in public right now:
  • Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself from severe illness, hospitalization or death due to COVID-19.
  • Mask up. Vaccinated or not, people five years and older, are required to wear a face covering in all indoor public places, and at outdoor events with 500 or more people, such as concerts or sporting events  (The Snohomish Little League Board does not anticipate League-sponsored practices or games to exceed an outdoor capacity of more than 500 people).
  •  We strongly recommend that children between 2 and 4 years old also wear masks. More info on Washington’s mask requirement.
  • Stay home if you’re sick or have any symptoms
  • Add WA Notify to your smartphone. This will alert you if you may have been exposed to COVID-19 and anonymously alert others if you test positive. WA Notify is completely private and doesn't know who you are or track where you go.

Facial coverings & Player Dugout

  • Masks are not a requirement for players, coaches, and spectators, but a personal choice based on whether you have received the vaccine.
  • Snohomish Little League will respect the choices of players, coaches, and spectators who wish to utilize facial coverings and ask that all attendees also respect these choices.
  • If you and/or your player has yet to receive the vaccine or have elected not to, we ask that you continue to use caution and preventative measures to protect yourselves and your families, including the wearing of masks.
  • Dugout usage will return to pre-COVID conditions and are open to players and coaches only.

Facilities and spectator capacities

  • Outdoor training, practices, and competitions allowed.
  • Concession stand volunteers will be required to wear facial coverings while inside the buildings.
  • Pack in & pack out. This includes all trash.

Away Games & Visiting Teams

  • At away games, Snohomish Little League teams and spectators are subject to the home team's guidelines and policies. In the absence of clear guidelines, teams are encouraged to follow Snohomish Little League guidelines to maintain consistency for players.
  • Visiting teams including players and spectators are subject to Snohomish Little League policies and guidelines.
